Chief of Staff

At High 12 Brands our goal is to build recognizable and successful global cannabis brands. We are creative, we are collaborative, and we are hyper-focused on delivering products that are beloved by cannabis consumers. We are hiring a Chief of Staff (CoS) to support the Founder. The CoS operates at a tactical, strategic and operational level. The focus will be on assisting the founder in managing cross functional projects, setting and managing priorities, and acting as a second set of hands, eyes, and ears for the founder. This role is critical to the success of the underlying businesses and the successful candidate will demonstrate significant drive, initiative, organization, communication and team management skills. This is a high intensity role with a significant scope of responsibility across a fast growing organization.

 

In this job you will…

  • Be a trusted advisor and confidant to the Founder, maintaining an intimate knowledge of all current inner workings of the businesses.

  • Provide on-site leadership for team by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones

  • Assess inquiries directed to Senior Management to determine the appropriate course of action or delegation.

  • Providing decision support through data gathering, information analyzing, and presenting considerations to relevant stakeholders

  • Full project life cycle ownership: successful project delivery will include full implementation from initiation to deployment for one major or several minor initiatives simultaneously

  • Keep the Founder accountable for commitments, while helping keep reports accountable for results.

  • Set and continually manage project expectations while delegating and managing deliverable with team members and stakeholders

  • Organizing, prioritizing, and managing the Founder’s time, priorities, communications, and workflow. Ensure the Founder is working on the most important items for the company.

  • Ensure all relevant issues are addressed properly, efficiently and judiciously, and keep track of progress until resolved.

  • Track high priority initiatives for the Senior team and identify any obstacles

  • Coordinate the execution of strategic initiatives

  • Identify and manage ad hoc strategic projects to execute key initiatives or close any existing gaps.

  • Communicate initiative status to the team, lead or manage team meetings, taking minutes and action items and reporting back to the Founder

  • Provide direct administrative and office management support to the Founder.

  • Maintain work schedules, calendars and inboxes of the Founder, vetting requests for time and routing requests to others or participating in proxy.

  • Prepare travel schedules, book travel arrangements, and make reservations.

  • Review all documents, reports, and correspondence prepared for signatures for format, content, grammar, spelling and make edits as necessary.

  • Prepare draft reports, background documentation, and research.

We are looking for someone with…

  • 4+ years professional experience working for a CEO/founder and other C level executives.

  • Previous experience working in a fast moving complex and regulatory driven industry.

  • Preference for a candidate with a 4 year university degree in Business.

  • Preference for a candidate with project management experience.

  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.

  • Proficient time management and prioritization skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills.

  • Adaptable to change and willing and able to take direction.

  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and confidentiality.

  • Ability to work nights and weekends, and travel as needed (Domestically and Internationally)

  • Cannabis experience preferred.
