Brand Manager

High 12 Brands is a cannabis-focused Consumer Packaged Goods company. Our goal is to build and operate premier global cannabis brands. We are creative, we are collaborative, and we are hyper-focused on delivering products that are beloved by cannabis consumers.

We are hiring a Brand Manager to research, develop, execute, and analyze marketing activities for High 12 branded products from conception through to sales. Reporting to the VP, Marketing, the Brand Manager will be a key leader and decision maker within High 12’s Marketing Department.

In this job you will...

  • Manage the full marketing lifecycle of assigned portfolio, including overall brand strategy, core marketing initiatives, campaigns, and tactical day-to-day activities.

  • Conduct market and consumer research in order to specify customer requirements for existing/upcoming products and gain insight into new opportunities and selling channels.

  • Lead the product launch process including defining and tracking promotions and other related deliverables.

  • Analyze marketing programs and recommend improvements to strategic plans.

  • Establish brand positioning statements and value proposition(s) for assigned product line(s).

  • Establish brand guidelines and standards; ensure they are followed by internal and external stakeholders.

  • Manage interactions with public relations staff, media personnel, and external agencies to increase brand awareness among customers.

  • Select, implement, and use tracking and reporting tools for monitoring the performance of brand initiatives.

  • Integrate branding efforts with other business units such as Sales, Creative, Digital, Trade, Product Development, and Customer Service.

  • Conduct competitive analysis to monitor the activities and developments of competing organizations; identify threats and opportunities based on findings.

  • Communicate brand awareness plans and programs to senior management.

  • Assist in the creation of product design, packaging, labelling, and other tasks.

  • Build and maintain a network of market contacts, industry associates, and other key relationships in order to remain current with emerging market trends.

  • Identify and forecast market shifts and threats.

  • Track and report on brand and marketing activity KPIs.

  • Create financial models, benchmarks, budgets, and data analysis methods.

  • Where necessary, prepare and deliver product presentations, white papers, press releases, customer briefings, and other sales tools.

  • Assist in the creation of product training plans and channel partner collateral for sales representatives.

  • Manage a team that may include Associate Brand Managers, Business Analysts, and Product Developers.

We are looking for someone with...

  • University degree in business related field.

  • Minimum 3 years of direct work experience in marketing or brand management.

  • Demonstrated success in consumer-centric brand strategies, including go-to-market strategies, product launches, and execution of sales and marketing efforts.

  • Robust understanding of marketing channels and data-driven approach to budgeting and optimization.

  • Experience writing clear and concise market-driven positioning statements, value propositions, and product requirements and specifications.

  • Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills, with a high degree of tact and diplomacy.

  • Proven relationship building and leadership across internal departments, key business partners, and customers.

  • Collaborative, team-first approach.

  • Strong communication skills, including presentation experience to large and diverse audiences.

  • Strong quantitative analysis ability (Excel, Tableau).

  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.

  • Strong sense of aesthetic, high taste level, and a passion for great branding and design.

  • Knowledge of retail and/or wholesale sales principles, methods, practices, and techniques.

  • Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills.

  • Ability to create and edit sales materials and presentations.

  • Knowledge of the cannabis industry (or similar regulated industry) is an asset.
